This is their punishment for being terrible towards Yu, Kanji and Yosuke. This to satisfy all the fans that were dissatisfied with some of the abuse they got away with during the series and the gravity of what they did wasn’t taken seriously by some of the fandom as how Yosuke treated Kanji in the beginning or Teddie’s sexist jokes
Reasons why It was decided to punish them…

1. Chie hits Yosuke on the nuts when she’s angry at him
2. Yukiko slaps people when she thinks they say something that crosses the line but most of the time it’s a misunderstanding and she doesn’t even apologise when she’s wrong except for that camp incident.
3. Both of them forced Yosuke and Yu to eat their badly cooked food without trying it out themselves
4. They hit Kanji for coming into their tent without asking him why and had the nerve to force themselves into the guys tent and demand their personal space. (Chie dividing the boys tent in two and warning the boys not to come to their side. It’s our tent damn it.)
5. Pushing Yosuke, Yu amd Kanji into the lake. Yosuke deserved it but not Yu and Kanji damn it
6. Staying in the Bathhouse way to long and when it was the guys turn to come they attacked the guys for being perverts and didn’t even apologise when they realise they were in the wrong. Yukiko is to blame for mixing things up here.
7. Giving the guys the cursed ghost room. Also since the girls came into the guys tent uninvited during the camp, the guys had every right to go into the girls room because they weren’t given a proper room and it was also cursed but somehow it seemed weird to go into the girls room. The guys did try to go and enter the wrong room but I have a strong feeling if they went into the right room things would have been thrown at them like during the bathhouse scene.
That’s all I can remember at the top of my head but I’m sure there was some more too and for these reasons this was created to redeem the abuse the boys experienced by these 2 girls and justice has been served.
